SEP-0012 PUT /customer how to send the fields and values?

I am implementing the SEP-0012 protocol, and in the specification of the PUT /customer there is no fields to send the SEP-0009 fields and its values.

The specification says: "The wallet should also transmit one or more of the fields listed in SEP-9, depending on what the anchor has indicated it needs."

How should that information be sent? I thought of two options:

1. Similar to how it is returned in GET and adding a value field:

   "fields": {
      "email_address": {
         "value": "emal@email.com"
       }
    }

2. Or simply adding the field name and the values:

   "email_address": "emal@email.com", 

Any of these options make sense?
